Nick and Ryan were married at the Four Seasons in Napa Valley. The grooms wanted their wedding to reflect their personal style which was inspired by clean lines, natural, sleek textures, and mid-century modern architecture. They also wanted to honor the landscape in a way that wouldn't feel whimsical or undermine their modern aesthetic.

We established early on in the design process that we would be relying on the use of different materials and textures to carry the design and zeroed in on wood, embossing details, slate and linen.  For the Save the Dates, we paired wood envelopes with bauhouse-inspired typography which was both embossed and debossed.

For the invitations we wanted to build off the Save the Date design to create a cohesive "narrative" but not in a way that would feel repetetive. We turned to aerial map images for inspiration and created a modern, grid-like pattern of a Napa landscape. This pattern was sculpted-emboss printed on a custom pocket envelope, creating a dramatic contrast to the deep indigo, foil-printed invitation card. We also added a wood liner as a nod to the Save the Date envelope.

When designing the day-of paper, Nick and Ryan were clear that they wanted the menus to be the star of the show. We created custom linen menu booklets, foil-printed with their logo; engraved wooden placecards; and corresponding wood table numbers. Engraved cocktail signs in slate and acrylic, and foil-printed cocktail napkins added yet another layer of modern texture, contrast and drama.
